The evolution of the CoVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and the measures taken by the authorities lead us to suspend all CUSO programs «real-life» activities for the entire spring semester. Each program will endeavour to reschedule planned activities at a later date, once the situation has subsided, but in any case not before August. Some activities may be offered online. Please check the websites of the various programs. Thank you for your collaboration and understanding.
The DPMS (Programme Doctoral en Sciences des Minéraux in french) aims to foster scientific quality and creativity in the field of Mineral Sciences and to promote mobility and soft skills competence.
The education and training offer comprises acquirement of scientific tools (mainly analytical methods), soft skills, and a broad scientific background through courses, workshops and field excursions.
The DPMS unites the doctoral students and senior teaching scientists of the traditional disciplines mineralogy, material sciences, petrology, geochemistry, geochronology and archeometry from the Universities of Fribourg, Genève, Lausanne, Neuchâtel and Bern. Activities are also open to doctoral students and researchers from other related fields.
The DPMS aims to enhance collaboration and scientific exchanges between the research groups of the CUSO universities. DPMS doctoral students are welcome to (co-)organise their own activities. Furthermore, doctoral students have the opportunity to present their research and results at the annual DPMS meeting day. Discussions with senior teaching scientists and with doctoral students from other universities give students the chance to discuss new scientific developments and to exchange methods, ideas and points of view.
