Description

The tertiary Adamello batholith is the largest intrusive complex in the Alps and is an ideal natural laboratory to understand magmatic processes. Additionally, a large amount of data exist on this region that can be use for context and targeted exercises.

We propose a field school, using lectures, practical work both in the field (mapping magnetic susceptibility) and with optical microscopes on existing petrographic thin sections to exploit the Adamello region and introduce the world of magmatic processes.
