| Description | The gemmology conference proposes a program unique in Switzerland with the participation of specialists from academy and industry. The program is listed below. Morning: Analytical techniques applied to gem materials and their geological environment (9h - 12h30) - Thomas Hainschwang (GemLab, Liechtenstein): Synthetic diamonds. (1h) - Gaston Giuliani (CRPG, Nancy): Isotopic signatures and fluid inclusions in corundums and emeralds regarding their geological origin. (1h) - Thomas Hainschwang (GemLab, Liechtenstein): Luminescence spectroscopy and microscopy applied to study gem materials. (1h) - Afternoon: General gemology (14h - 17h) - Stefanos Karempelas (Gubelin, Lucerne): Pearls – A review. (90 min) - Thomas Hainschwang (GemLab, Liechtenstein): Corundum (sapphire and ruby) treatment. (45 min) - Gaston Giuliani (CRPG, Nancy): Tanzanite & Tsavorite. (30 min). |
